Monografías
(Essays)
Containing that which cannot be contained.

How much is needed for a story to be told, how little for the imagination to be provoked?
A journal of sorts, an intimate jotting-down of time and place, Monografías dates to the artist's move from Europe to Latin America. The sky is telling of the artist's fascination for its ever-changing quality (cf. Studies for changing skies), which has enabled her to explore as much the formal aspect of  photography as the more intimate language of self-expression. Through her preferred palette of blues and blacks, the range of possibilities is endless: from very distinct tones to subtle differences, depending on light.
There is almost a swatch-like quality to this series. Like a dabbing of the paintbrush to create a palette.
